The first country is Namibia which I've started to go up north in Africa.
I had been driving the national road which I can see rugged mountains both of the side. Although my original schedule was due to aim at the Fish River Canyon (Namibia) today from Springbok (O'kep), that was skipped and I arrived Keepmanshoop.
I wanted to go Fish River Canyon also but I found out the location of the hotel currently arranged on the night of the previous day, and the route from Springbok was checked then the shortest distance was investigated, it also turned out that a possibility that the way is lost on the way is high.
I got the info from the hotel which I planned to stay and it said the road might be closed this season, and also when I avoid the way, the way of the point is not showed of a way with Michelin's paper map across the country border considerably, either. Moreover, for the information from the hotel, even if there was the way, when it comes from the direction, it is written that it cannot pass along it if the distance to a hotel is not 4WD vehicles, and it takes time fairly.
If I consider that the time arrival becomes dark even if I leave Springbok for very early morning, it will not be a best idea to reach by force to this schedule at which I have only an overnight stay.
Moreover, I will take a remarkable risk.

I asked myself that "what is my purpose for this journey?" and I decided that I give up on Fish River Canyon.

「Good Bye, South Africa!」

I left South Africa and the process for getting into Namibia was going smoothly.
When I leave South Africa at the first gate, I was given one small form which has 3 frames.
I had to get a stamp at  each frame and give it to an officer at the last gate.
Maybe it is the feature of the South Africa departure-from-a-country border.
When I entered South Africa, one officer said that I don't need the carnet but I thought I will be in trouble when I departure this country, so I asked him to put the stamp on it.
This time, there was a process for being stamped at the carnet on a routine basis.
When I think about what was it happened if I didn't get it when I have entered the country, I feel scared. I cross the bridge of the border concerning a larger river. And I shout

"Good Bye, South Africa!"

On the Namibia entrance-into-a-country border, although I was charged 130ND (Namibia dollar) by the frontier tax of the motorbike, 100 dollars was received, when I said that I have only US dollar currency.

Namibia!!」

Safely I came across the border and entered Namibia then I shout "Hello Namibia!!"

I was having hard time with strong wind from the direction of Cape Town while I was driving.
The weather is great but the wind is like having hurricane warning and it makes me and motorbike shake. Since the rear load is further increasing and the front is light, especially I feel scared of strong wind.

Keetmanshoop which I arrived today seems fun town even it is small.
I went to a gas station to look for the lodge which I've booked then suddenly the power blackout.
I cannot fill gas to my motorbike.
I arrived at the lodge,  put all my stuff to my room and unpack the stuff.
After that I took shower, did my laundry, went to the downtown for getting necessary things and exchange currency. (South Africa's currency and Namibia's are same rate, so I can use South African currency while I'm in Namibia.) I can see some white people in the downtown but definitely getting decreased the number.

I was said that I can use internet when I booked the lodge but although I caught Wi-Fi, I needed to buy a voucher ticket at a store before I use.
When I found out about it, the selling hours was over, so I couldn't upload the article today either.

When I went to the restaurant in the lodge, there were 3 people who look like Japanese.
Our eyes met each other but we came through. When I finished my meal, I talked to them.

"Nihao!" (lol) They expressed "we are not Japanese" by means of gestures, so I said "I knew it. You are Japanese, aren't you? It's rare." They are   from JICA (The Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers.) and live in Keetmanshoop and Windhoek. It was the first time for me to talk with Japanese sine I came to Africa. I thank them that I could get information about the route for Sesriem.

I could hear the raining sound when I try to go to bed. And getting strong. And more. Then next is the thunder. *bitter smile* And got struck by lightning near here... Well, can I depart here safely tomorrow?

There was a sing board which said there are a gas station, a hotel and a store, so I dropped by there for taking a break. But there is no people even one and it was a strange town.

Isn't about 1500m record in this journey?
