【Mexico】From Torreon to Zacatecas

到着時間によっては観光が少し出来るかもしれないので楽しみです。
トレオンの街を抜けて順調に走ります。
Since I'll not be driving through the centre of Torreon, all should be going smoothly.
メキシコの青空も青い！（笑)
Mexicos blue sky are blue too ;)
「この空、ひれー！！（広い）」
叫びながら走っています。
休憩で止まると
As I stop for a break,
そこにはカウボーイが居ます。
there's a Cowboy by the road side.
ステーキになる牛が沢山います。
There are a lot of cows, too, that will certainly end up as a steak sometime soon.
サカテカスの街に到着！
Arrival in Zakatecas!
ホテルの部屋から街が一望！
From my hotel room I have an undisturbed view of the whole historic centre.
街を歩く前に遅いランチで腹こしらえ。
But let's have lunch before exploring the town.
うーん、なんというモノなんでしょうか。
Hmmm, what is that?!
分厚いトルティーヤに、好みの具をいれたものです。
結構、イケます。
It's a lot of would, but I did manage to eat it all.
コークライトがついて、３８ペソ（２２０円）！
Including a can of Diet Coke: 38 peso (220 Yen).
さて、街に出ると突然、ヨーロッパに逆戻りした錯覚を覚えました。
Then, walking into the historical centre, I unexpectedly feel as if I an optimal illusion had transported me back in time to Europe.
街全体が世界遺産であることが頷けます。
I can appreciate why the city is a UNESCO world heritage site.
徒歩５分でカテドラルに到着。
After a 5 minute walk, I reach the cathedral.
荘厳です。
It's rather impressive
１３体の彫刻体の名前が書いた物がありましたがいたずら書きが酷く認識できませんでした。
There were stone carvings of 13 saints and their names, but I didn't manage to decipher any single one of them.

こちら幽厳な感じです。
It gives a grand and solemn impression
水道橋
Viaduct
補修作業が行われていました。
It's undergoing maintenance and repair works.
イスタンブールで見た水道橋を小さくした感じです。
It looks smaller than a similar viaduct I've seen in Istanbul.

I'm sorry, I've skipped out on homework it seems.
街のあちこちに可愛いお店が沢山あります。
Scattered across the whole city there are many adorable little shops.
ガス灯を売っている店の前で足が止まりました。
I stopped in front of a shop that is selling gas lights.
何故か、調理道具屋に売っているんです。
For some reason, they sell second hand cooking equipment.
ガス仲間だからか？
Maybe the shop belongs to a gas company?
キリスト好きにはたまりません。
Irresistible to Christians.
駄菓子屋さんもよくみかけます。
そして、多いのは
Also frequently seen:
路上ミュージシャン。
Side walk musicians.
ギタリスト以外にもベース弾き、バイオリン弾き、アコーディオン弾きの方々を見かけます。
In addition to guitar players, I've also seen base, violin and accordion players
テンガロンハット姿の男性がとっても多いのはメキシコならでは！
And typical for Mexico: lots of men wearing ten-gallon hats.

Rather deserted side street.
スペインの領土だったメキシコの過去が、ここにある。
Indeed, here I have found memories of the bygone days of Mexico under colonial Spanish rule.
３００年間に及んだの期間の長さは、街の特徴として永遠に残るものなんだな。
Over the course of 300 years the city's character has been preserved.

Today I'm on the way towards Zacatecas, whose historic centre is a UNESCO world heritage site.
All going according to plan, I should be getting there early enough to be able to do some sight seeing. Really looking forward to it.
