【ボリビア】ラパス滞在２
La Paz, Bolivia

朝、BMWディーラーのカルロスに電話をすると、１８：３０までに仕上げるとのこと。
ホテルフロントに一泊の延長を告げる。
When I called Carlos from the local BMW dealership, he said my motorcycle would be ready by 630pm.
So I extended my stay at the hotel one more night.
携帯に着信履歴があるので見るとコンゴからだ！
ボワンサという地図にない町に住むキンバサだった。
彼とは現地で４日間一緒に過ごし、今は親友として繋がっている。
先方はインターネットが出来ないので電話をしてお互いの近況を伝え合う。
彼も頑張って英語を話してくれるが、基本、コンゴ人はフランス語なので会話が難しい。
誰かー、フランス語出来る人、いませんかー？
しかし、彼らと話す度に泣けるのは困る。
それほどあのアフリカの西側は怒濤の経験だったみたい。
I noticed one missed call on my cell phone.
That was from Kimbasa who lives in Bowanza, Congo which is as tiny as it is not even on a map.
I spent 4 days with him while I stayed there and we are best friends now.
There is no internet service in his area, so we keep in touch over the phone.
He tries to speak English, but Congo people speak French, so it is difficult to communicate in our second language, English.
Is there any French speaker who can interpret for us?
Every time I talk to him, I cry.
I guess because the trip in the West Africa was very much adventurous and intense experience to me.
午後から街の散策と子供インタビューの取材に出ます。
クリスマスウイークとあって街は賑やかです。
I am going out to town for a walk and interviewing local kids for my project in the afternoon.
The town is festive from the Christmas week.
姉妹かな。
I wonder if they are sisters.
可愛い踊りと、歌を披露して、街行く人からお金を稼ぎます。
その一生懸命さに心が痛かった。
この子達にインタビューしようと思ったがちょっとまだ小さかった。
They perform lovely dance and singing to make money from people.
My heart ached to see the kids working so hard.
I wanted to interview them for my project, but they were too young.
バイクがないので徒歩圏内で行けるところへ。
I went places I could walk to because my motorcycle was in the shop.
サガルナガ通り。

沢山のお店が並んでいます。
一番多いのはセーター、ポンチョなどの衣類品です。
There are many shops on the street.
Many of them are selling clothing like sweaters and ponchos.
この道と交差する、通称魔女通りというものがあり、なにやら奇妙なものが沢山売っています。
There is a street, called Witches Market across the street, and I see a lot of strange things in the shops.
噂には聞いていましたが・・

リャマの胎児のミイラ。。
Wow…
土着の宗教の呪術で、祭事の捧げものに使われるそうです。
They use them as a sacrifice at local religious ritual events.
謎のものが多い。
There are many unknown items here.
町のあちこちで伝統音楽、フォルクローレが聞こえます。
You hear their traditional music, Folklore everywhere in town.
この通りには楽器屋がいっぱい！
There are many music shops on this street.
バイクの旅じゃなかったら楽器を２−３点買ってたな。
I would buy a few if I was not on motorcycle trip.
子供インタビューボリビア編、第一弾。
The first Bolivian kid’s interview.
独りで店番をする子に年齢を聞いたら１１歳。
通訳なし、紹介者なし、というパターンは初めてでしたがインタビューは成功です。
彼女が語ってくれた内容に衝撃を受けます。
近日中に公開しますね☆
She was 11 years old and alone watching the shop.
It was my first time to do this without interpreters or references all by myself, but it turned out successful.
I was shocked what she talked about though.
I will write about it soon.

ちなみにこの名前はどこにでもあるんだね。

Places with the name are almost everywhere.
ラパスは猥雑した喧噪の街ですが、教会の中に入ると一気に心が安らぎます。
La Paz is a very chaotic and busy place, but inside the church is so peaceful.
静かな威厳を感じます。I feel its dignity.
正面の祭壇はまばゆいほどの黄金の飾りがびっしり壁面を埋めています。
The front altar is filled with beautiful decoration.
今までイエス像を沢山見て来たが、ここまでリアルなものはなかったんじゃないかな。
I have seen Jesus statues and sculptures many times in other places, but I have never seen so real one like this.
いやー、女性警官があまりにも奇麗だったもので、ついね。
I could not help taking a photo of this beautiful police officer.

小腹が空いたので、ボリビア風ホットドッグを。
中にソーセージが入っているのは同じですが、周りは揚げ餃子のようなもので挟んである。
ケチャップ、マスタード、そしてチリソースをかけます。
５ボリビアーノ（５０円）。
旨い＾＾
I was a little hungry, so I bought a Bolivian hotdog.
There is a sausage in it just like regular hot dogs, but instead of buns they use something like fried egg roll wraps.
I put some ketchup, mustard, and chili sauce.
5 bolivianos (about 50 yens)
It tasted good!
ボリビア独立のヒーロー像が中心に立ち、その名を冠したムリリョ広場。
Plaza Murillo named after Bolivian hero who helped Bolivian independence. There is his statue in the center of the plaza.
大量の鳩と市民の憩いの広場となっています。
左が国会議事堂、中央が大統領官邸、右がカテドラル。
This is the place people and even doves get together.
On the left, it is a capital building, and in the middle, it is a presidential mansion, and on the right, it is a cathedral.

その脇の催事場前でちらしを配りをしている子に年齢を聞くと１０歳☆
Right next to the cathedral, there was a girl who is 10, giving out flyers at an event site.
中に親がいて、インタビューに快く立ち会ってくれた。
There was her parent in the shop and accepted my interview offer.
後から判ったことだが、彼女はインディヘナ（先住民）でラパス郊外の貧しいエリアから街に降りて来ていたのでした。
Later I heard that she is native and came down from very poor area, outskirts of La Paz.
ここでもかなり貴重な声をもらうことが出来た。
こちらも是非、お楽しみに☆

WOW! There are so many people as I heard.
I really wanted to eat it but I did not.
約束の時間になったのでタクシーでディーラーへ。
ちなみにタクシーは５キロくらい走って１５ボリ（１５０円）。
流石ボリビア、南米一物価が安い！
It was about time to visit the dealership shop.
I got a taxi ride about 5km and paid 15 Bolivian (150yens)
Things are cheaper in this country. I heard Bolivia is the cheapest to buy things in the South America.
小さめ、おとなしめのディーラーです。
It is a smaller and conservative looking dealership.
バイクのサービス部門。
Motorcycle shop area.
今まで訪れたディーラーの中では一番ささやか。
依頼事項は、リマから積んで来たタイヤをオンからオフへ交換、チバイの駐車場で知らないうちにヘシ曲がっていたブレーキペダルの修理、ハンドル振れの修理、チバイ〜ラパスで頻発していたエンジンストップの原因チェック。
This place was the smallest dealership of all the others I have visited before.
The services were to change the on-road tires that I carried from Lima to off-road tires, to repair the brake pedal which was bent at the parking lot in Chivay, Peru (I didn’t even know how that happened.), to repair steering shake problem, and to find out the cause of engine stop that was frequent on the road between Chivay and La Paz.
なんと今回はハンドルの振れが完全に直った！
規模は小さいのにやるなラパス！！
原因はヘッドベアリングでした。新品に交換して完了＾＾。
The steering shake was finally fixed!
It is impressive considering the size of the La Paz shop!!!
It was completed by replacing head bearing that was causing the problem.

実は、子供インタビューで収録したビデオの内容を彼が訳してくれました！
有り難いー。
He translated the interviews filmed today!
I appreciated his help.
ホテルに戻り、パーキングで明日出発のためのメンテを少し。
その後、ケンちゃん食堂へ！
I went back to the hotel, and prepared the motorcycle for the next day in the parking lot.
Then I was headed to “Ken-chan Restaurant.”
評判高い「トルーチャちらし寿司定食」を注文します。
Famous “Trout Sushi meal”
うおー、こ、これは絶品じゃー！
ちなみにトルーチャとは南米で捕れるマスです。
WOW! This tastes so good!
さあ、明日はラパスを離れ、ウユニ方面へ向います。
一日でウユニへ行けないので中継地点の町、オルロで一泊の予定です。
Tomorrow I am leaving La Paz, and going to Uyuni.
It is going to take more than one day to get to Uyuni, so I will stay in Oruro which is a half way to the place.
