On my way out of Port Hedland, I looked at the scenery and the famous salt manufacture.
no title

Today I drove in an open area for what seemed like forever.
1

Often times I saw the remains of wildfire.
2

I was told that it spontaneously combusted. A single drop of water takes on the role of a magnifying lens in the dry season.

Excuse my ill manner…
3

I sometimes ride like this.

I got gas on my way onto a sun-baked road.
The name of the station was Sandfire Road House.
Road House is like Michi no Eki (rest stop/roadside station) in Japan. Compared to the ones in Japan, this one was very simple.

4

At first, I thought I heard some old man burp, but it was actually this bird.
Is this a peacock?

Finally, I was able to interview a child in Australia!
She was an aborigine. I wished to interview someone like her for a while now.

5

I heard sensitive and noteworthy opinions from many people. However, she was very cheerful and friendly when I talked to her.

She was eleven years old and very shy. Look forward to the video clip :)

I arrived in the town of Broome!
I decided to put up a tent again because the temperature was 32°C when I got here today.

6

The young guy at the gas station recommended a camp ground. It was great! I could see the ocean!
I was able to put the tent up while it was still bright outside.

I went sight-seeing for a while.
I chose this place as my first sightseeing spot.

8

This is a Japanese cemetery.
9

Early in the 20th century, Broome was flourished by cultivation pearls. There were many Japanese people who came here to work.
I heard that some Japanese people moved here as immigrants.
Broome has a sad history. It became a target for the Japanese army in World War II.
This cemetery does not only include Japanese who were killed in the war, but also people who were drowned by the repeated hurricanes that hit while they were working.

I found that there were many people who came from Wakayama, Ehime, and Kagoshima prefectures when I was looking at each gravestone.

I felt a lump in my throat as I thought about how these people all came here from Japan to work for their families.

This is Cable Beach. It’s the best beach in the town!
I heard that there were remains of dinosaur fossils at the tip of the headland.

10

Since I’ve entered this town, I’ve found that there are many aborigines.
11

I also noticed that they had bare feet. The girl who I interviewed earlier had no shoes on either.

I headed to the Japanese restaurant the man at the store recommended.
12

BENTO(弁当) を注文。
I ordered bento, a Japanese lunch box styled meal.
13

The combination of the food was a different story, but the meal was yummy!

I didn’t see any Japanese people, but I was glad to find out that Japanese culture was part of this town.
