[On March 20th, I finally arrived in Sidney, completing my goal of crossing the 5 continents. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and help me during this time.

[Australia] Sidney Part 1

感動のシドニーゴール、世界５大陸走破達成の翌朝を迎えました。
This is the morning after I reached my goal of crossing 5 continents and I arrived at the longed final destination: Sidney.
トールさんから
「日本帰国までウチに居てください。」
Toru-san said “Please stay at our place until your return to Japan”.
なんてー嬉しいお言葉！！
Needless to say – what a pleasant offer!
感謝感激で涙です。
I'm so grateful and moved, that a few tears run down my cheeks.
こんな余裕のある大人に究極憧れる。
That's the ultimate compliment from someone who's usually so calm and serene.
海外ツーリング完走の余韻にひたる間もなく、早速多くの作業にかからねばなりません。
And while the touring experience reverberates in my thoughts, before long and without further delay a lot of preparations need to be completed.
ダーウィン以来、６０００キロぶりのオイルとオイルエレメント交換。
For the first time since Darwin, after over 6000 kilometres, it's an exchange of oil as well as the oil element.
トールさん宅には立派なガレージがあるので自分で作業が出来る。
And since at Toru-san's house there is an awesome garage, I can do it even myself.

自分でメンテナンスをすることが最高に嬉しく、楽しい！
I'm really glad I can do this piece of maintenance myself, and enjoy it a lot.
この旅でオイル交換をするのも最後か、としみじみ感じながら・・。
And while deeply aware that this will probably the last time an oil exchange is needed on this journey ...
日本へ飛行機でバイクを送るため、日通シドニーさんの倉庫へ向います。
最後の海外走行となります。
To send the bike by air fright to Japan, I drive to the warehouse of Nittsu Sidney.
This is the last time I'm driving overseas ...
シドニー首都高を走行する際には日本でいうとETCデバイスが必要なのでトールさんから借りたものを上着のポケットに入れて走ります。
For Sidney's metropolitan highways you need a device similar to Japan's ETC. Toru-san borrowed me his, which I put into the jacket's pocket while driving.
シドニー北部のトールさん宅から街の中心Cityを抜け、空港と港のある南部まで移動。
無事、到着！
From the city's North, where Toru-san lives, I drive through the city centre to the South side of the city where the harbour and the airport are located.
Arrival, without any incidents!
本当にもう海外での走行が終わったんだと思うと、寂しい気持ち１０％、強い安堵感９０％が入り交じった。
As I think about the fact that now indeed there is not going to be any more overseas driving, a get mixed emotions: about 10% of which is sadness, but 90% is of being really relieved.
オートバイのガソリンを抜くこと、バッテリーの端子を外すのがバイクを飛行機に乗せる条件。
その作業を倉庫前で行って引き渡します。
The conditions to load the bike onto the air plane are drain the petrol from the tank, and the disconnect the battery.
I complete these requirements on the parking lot of the warehouse, and then proceed to hand the bike over.
よし、これで私が帰国する３／３１にバイクも日本で乗り出しが出来る状態になる！
そのデッドラインが今日、ここへ持ち込む日だった。
やった、間に合った！！
Done! With this, I will be able to pick the bike up right on my arrival in Japan on March 31st, and continue the journey there.
The deadline to hand the bike over in order to keep to the schedule was today.
Made it on time!
問題となったのはバイクに積載していた荷物。
中米（パナマ）→南米（コロンビア）や、チリ→シドニーではそのままバイクに括り着けた状態で業者へ渡し、空輸が出来たが日本への場合はそうはいかない。
In the side conditions of the transport documentation is stated that only the bike with empty pannier cases is allowed to be stored in the wooden transport boxes.
バイクの輸出入に関する書類であるカルネに厳従し、梱包する木箱に入れられるものはバイクと空のパニアケースのみとなる。
This said, the problem was all the stuff that was loaded on the bike.
When I flew from Central America (Panama) to South America (Colombia), and from Chile to Sidney, I handed the bike over to the air fright company as is, loaded and everything.
However, in the case of having it taken to Japan this is not allowed.
ではバイクに積んでいたものはすべて空港まで手荷物で持っていくのか・・と不安がよぎるがその点、この日通さんは、別で空輸する手続きをすぐに用意してくれた。
And as I was thinking aloud of whether I had to carry all the stuff that had been packed onto the bike as (hand) luggage to the air-port, the Nittsu employee pick up on my concerns and immediately got everything read for them to be shipped separately via air fright.
但しすべての物品を正確に申告する必要があるので床にひろげてカウントを始める。
However, since all the goods have to be listed and declared one by one, I spread them on the floor and started to count them.
梱包作業、他の手続きが終わるまで近くのバー？で一息。
While Nittsu finishes the packing and other necessary paper work, we take a break in a nearby bar (?).
店内は場外馬券場の機能も兼ねていて、ドッグレース、競馬、その他の公営ギャンブルのプレイが出来るようになっている。
オーストラリアの都市ではこんな店をあちこちで見かけた。
The places doubles as an accredited off location betting place for dog races, horse races etc, and so it is possibly to bet from here.
In Australian you see these places scattered across every city.
日通さんのオフィスに戻り、輸送に関する詳細な説明を受け、別送品の申告作業、清算を行って完了。
On return to the Nittsu office, I'm talked through every detail of the transport. Then, after completing the declaration of the separately sent goods and paying for them, I'm done.
次にバイクを見るのは日本だ、と思いながらこの倉庫を後にする。
I leave the warehouse behind me while it crosses my head that I will see the bike the next time already in Japan.
が、トールさんからシドニーの首都高を走るために必要なデバイスを出して、と言われた時、
あっちゃ〜〜！
But: That's when Toru-san asked me to give him the Australian ETC device back, that I realised that, oh my ...
日本へ送る荷物にそのまま入れてしまった！！
I had left it in the jacket with the gear that now is on its way to Japan!!!
ということで、急いで倉庫へ戻り、無事回収。
In a hurry I return once more to the warehouse, and lucky managed to retrieve the device without any further problems.
もう一度バイクと会えた。(笑)
I was able to see my bike one last time :D
本当にお別れし、トールさん宅へ戻る。
Bidding it a final good bye, we return to Toru-san's house.
トールさんご夫婦と一緒に用意して頂いた夕食をたべながら、あらためてこの旅を振り返っての話し、社会貢献のこと、日本の現状と将来について、そして私の次のチャレンジについて語りあいながら夜が更けた。
Over a dinner I had prepared together with Toru-san and his wife it got rather late as we talked once more about my journey, but also about contributing to society, Japan's current state and the country's future, and also about my next challenge.

This is the morning after I reached my goal of crossing 5 continents and I arrived at the longed final destination: Sidney.
トールさんから
